Jazzy Joe Jazz Guitar Pickup with Adjustable Polepieces Pickguard Mount

Jazzy Joe Jazz Guitar Pickup with Adjustable Polepieces Pickguard Mount

Most people consider Kent's jazz pickups to be the best in the world and who are we to argue? We can barely keep on regular models in stock. However, there are some people who want even more flexibility in this style of pickup, so Kent has brewed up something new and even more versatile.

Announcing the all new Humbucking jazz pickup line with adjustable polepieces. These pickups allow you to compensate for tonal imbalance and to completely equalise the string balance. Just can't beat this pickup. This pick-up is only 3/8" thick but sacrifices nothing in terms of sound quality of the full rich sound that players have come to expect of such a pick-up. Don't worry about getting a pick-up to fit under the strings again.

Tip on how to mount this Kent Armstrong Jazz Guitar pickup - there are two options for attaching this pickup to the pickguard / scratchplate:

  1. For the most inconspicuous method of mounting, rough up the top side of the metal side tab on the pickup as well as the underside of the pickguard and then use a contact adhesive such as Evo-stik.
  2. Another method is to drill two holes through both the pickguard and metal side tab on the pickup and use some small nuts and bolts to secure into position.

There are two solder lugs on the bottom of the pickup ready for your wiring. We recommend purchasing our Gibson braided wire. The lug closest to the mounting tabs is the ground or shield lug, and it should be wired to the Gibson wire's outer braid. The inner conductor of the wire will connect to the inner or hot lug. You can run the pickup straight into output endpin jack, or you may choose to use onboard volume and tone controls. These controls can be mounted to the instrument's pickguard, or into holes drilled into the face of the guitar. 500k for brighter tone, 250k for warmer tone.
